New Chairman Appointed

5 Apr

We are delighted to announce the appointment of new Chairman, Geoff Percy, who will lead the Board of Trustees and work closely with Executive Director, Sarahjane Robertson and the Senior Management team on the strategy and continued growth of the charity.

Geoff spent his executive career within the Health and Beauty Industry, holding senior Marketing positions for Nivea UK and Neutrogena.  He went on to become Sales & Marketing Director for the personal care division at Smith & Nephew before becoming MD of the company's Global Consumer business.

As CEO, Geoff led a management buyout of Smith & Nephew’s beauty portfolio in 2000, transforming the business model.  A secondary management buyout was undertaken in 2004 and the business rebranded as Simple Health and Beauty. Simple, having attained the leading position in the UK skincare market, was exited to Alberto Culver - now Unilever - in 2011. Geoff acted as non-executive advisor to the new owner in the UK / US for 18 months.

He has chaired Orion Media (Commercial Radio stations across the Midlands) and Plastique, both of whom were Private Equity backed businesses and have been successfully exited.

Geoff was Chairman of the CTPA (Cosmetic Toiletry and Perfumery Association) between 2004 - 2007 and was the Chairman of the CBI in the West Midlands between 2007-2010. He has also been a member of the West Midlands Regional Marketing Board and Chairman of the Founders Association of Warwick Business School.

He is currently non-executive Chairman of SLG and Bronnley and a founding partner of Below The Belt Grooming for Men.  Away from work Geoff is a keen (but slow) charity runner and passionate (and he says, often miserable) supporter and season ticket holder at Newcastle United!

Geoff comments: “Having worked within the Health and Beauty Industry for most of my life, I am fully aware of Look Good Feel Better’s incredible achievements over the past 24 years.  It’s an exciting time for the charity as they continue to expand and I’m looking forward to working with the whole team to explore more opportunities and support even more people living with cancer.”
