Five Bannatyne Directors Cycle 762 miles for LGFB

16 Jul

After completing a gruelling, strength-sapping 762 mile cycle ride, five directors of the Bannatyne Group are celebrating raising more than £33,000 for the company’s chosen charities. (Look Good Feel Better and Operation Smile)

The five directors, Justin Musgrove (47), Anthony Elliott (36), Ken Campling (54), Steve Hancock (51) and Ed James (37) battled inclement weather, injury and exhaustion to cycle from Inverness to Eastbourne.

Justin Musgrove, Chief Executive of The Bannatyne Group, said: “I’m very proud that my fellow directors and I have managed to raise such a tremendous sum for two amazing charities. I’d like to thank everyone who sponsored us and joined us along the way. Their encouragement, support and positivity kept us going through the rain and the steep hill climbs.

It was one of the biggest challenges of my life and not something I’d do again in a hurry. The thought of all the people whose lives will be enhanced by Look Good Feel Better and Operation Smile gave us all the motivation to make it to the end. Hopefully the sense of achievement will last longer than the aches and pains we picked up along the way!”

Lizzie Hanks, LGFB’s Corporate Relationship Manager comments: “We’re incredibly grateful to have been supported by the Bannatyne Directors on their epic challenge. A group of truly inspiring gentlemen and a fantastic achievement. Their support will make a significant difference to the charity and we cannot thank them enough for their dedication and passion for Look Good Feel Better.”
