How we make a difference
The emphasis in all our workshops is to relax and have fun. It’s a chance to do something practical, pro-active and positive and to meet people in a similar situation. At the end of a workshop we want everyone to leave feeling radiant, confident – and with a smile on their face.
“I was frightened to see how much hair had fallen out overnight and shocked at how I looked in the mirror. With some trepidation I went to a LGFB workshop and I can’t tell you how it helped me … I can now make myself look like the me I used to be, not the me who happens to be a cancer patient.”
Kate Tijou, LGFB Beneficiary
“I had seen the positive effects of LGFB workshops on my patients for many years but nothing prepared me for being diagnosed myself. You don’t realise how vulnerable women feel when they look into a mirror and see a stranger staring back. Being shown simple make-up skills made me feel able to go out looking as ‘normal’ as possible.”
